Our Story
In May of 2008 Lola’s Lakehouse opened its doors after undergoing a remodel that took well over a year to complete. While Lola’s was new to Waconia, the site Lola’s sits on has over 100 years of history dating back to the late 19th century. A gathering place for not only locals but for city folk who would come by train to the beautiful shores of Clearwater Lake (Lake Waconia), the property has been enjoyed by many for quite a long time.
Lola’s is owned by the Berger family. Kyle grew up on Lake Waconia and has called Waconia home for over 40 years. He recognized when the previous restaurant was up for sale that he might only get one chance at purchasing a property this unique, and decided to go all in. Kyle and his wife Amy can be regularly found onsite and enjoy being involved with various aspects of the day-to-day operations.
It’s widely known that Lola’s views of Lake Waconia are unparalleled, but Lola’s is much more than a view. Our goal is to provide a total experience that melds unbelievable food and drinks with excellent service, and of course, sitting lakeside with the sun on your shoulders doesn’t hurt.
Lola’s design cues are inspired by the look and feel of New England Boat houses. Bright white wooden plank walls are offset with heavy, dark beams, flooring and furniture. Various nautical inspired lamps and ship decor can be found throughout the restaurant and bar.
The menu is seafood inspired with traditional American fare. From fresh oysters, mussels and scallops to fish and chips, our options will please anyone looking to satisfy their seafood craving. If that isn’t your thing, our flatbreads, salads and sandwiches are constantly getting rave reviews.
